Launch

So its two days after the launch and I’m sitting here completely exhausted. It was such a great night-friends and family all there showing their support for the project-I couldn’t have asked for more!

It’s been such a rollercoaster getting to the night, it all passed in a blur. Everyone was running late cause of long weekend traffic, going on late-for once it wasn’t me! I remember it being 7:30 and just wanting to get up there and sing this bitch. After 18 months of prep you’d want to get out there and do it too! So it finally hit 8:30 and most people were finally there so I got the band up and did our thing-it went by so fast. Next thing you know we were at the last song and I wasn’t feeling “lonely” anymore! Off the stage and into the arms of the adoring fans-awh! Everyone screaming and wanting a piece of you-I could do this every day-I want to do this every day!!

People buying CDs and wanting me to sign them-it was all so surreal. I was like me, signing autographs? I was so focused on the lead up to the night I hadn’t really thought about that stuff. I was just so happy it was all over and we did a great job! I did forget to thank one very important person though so I thank him here: Ash there would be no “Moonbeam Child” without you! Thank god you’re marrying my sister, cause you wouldn’t put up with me if you weren’t-so lucky me and lucky for the project!!

So my thoughts go to where to from here? Well there’s a long road ahead-the album comes out officially on Tuesday 25th March, 2008 and then it’s back to the phones and the email to get everyone we possibly can to play and promote it.

I just want to thank everyone who made the launch-it was the first of many dreams to come true for and I’m so glad you were there to share it with me!

Shit Hits The Fan

So you take a few days away from your computer and BANG – shit hits the fan!

When you finally start to get your personal life together your music starts to suffer. One word of advice to budding independents out there – whatever or however hard you think its gonna be, times that by ten and you'll be somewhere in the ball park. I'm a pretty organized person, but if you let yourself slip even for a day in this biz, stuff can just pile up on you……

But enough of my currently jaded remarks and onto something a bit more pleasant-THE LAUNCH! Its only 12 days away and I'm nervous as hell. So much to do, so little time. Its one of those times you need that lifeline and take up those favours owed…….

But all in all its shaping up well, rehearsals are coming up-cant wait to work with the band. There's nothing like playing with a live band. The studio is so sterile, just you and the mic in the booth. Give me real music any day - feeling the vibrations and energy of the people behind you – now that's what I'm talking about!

Looks like April gigs aren't gonna come through so looking to May. Will keep you posted. And don't forget to buy the album!!!! Out 25th March!

so i wake up this morning and find a virus on my computer - not impressed. and furthermore the bugger has done a lot of damamge and i'm still trying to fix the thing...... but enough bitching. this close to the launch i didnt need another distraction - they come without trying it seems.

but forgetting the crap its full steam a head, still freaking out - one doesn't release a debut album everyday. you've played the songs for friends and family and they say they love it, but the real test is the public and the critics - they dont have to be nice!

all in all its been a good month with press and radio starting to come onboard. we'll just have to wait and see what they really think after the event.
